Todd Statton, CFP®

Financial Advisor

Todd grew up in Roswell, GA right on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. He recalls early memories of walking down to the river with his fly rod in hand in the pursuit of the trout in the river. This activity led Todd to understand one of his first passions in life: the protection and conservation of our lands and rivers. To this day, he still spends time actively promoting the conservation of nature. Along with his parents still in Roswell, GA, Todd has a sister and a brother who have families in Dunwoody, GA and Charleston, SC.

At the age of 14, Todd opened his first stock brokerage trading account, which began his second passion in life: the ever fast-paced environment of the stock market. He recalls being so interested in researching companies for investment ideas and opportunities. Instead of reading the sports section of the newspaper like his friends at the time, Todd spent his time reading the stock quote listings in the business section. From an early age, Todd knew that he wanted to be involved in the financial services industry.

Todd attended Appalachian State University in the fall of 1996 and found himself torn between these two passions. He had two goals. One was to become a park ranger to continue his passion for the land, rivers, and wildlife, and the other was to pursue a career in economics and financial services. In the end, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in economics won out, but that hasn’t diminished the other passion.

After school, Todd worked for large investment and insurance firms beginning with Invesco Retirement in Atlanta, GA before moving to the mutual fund industry working in the Atlanta Financial Center in Buckhead, GA. He gained great experience in mutual fund strategies which led him to financial consulting positions with AXA Advisors and LPL Financial in Asheville, NC. In the summer of 2011, Todd moved to Denver, CO to pursue an opportunity with OppenheimerFunds, who as an investment firm, manages $250 Billion. With this knowledge and experience, Todd decided to move back to Georgia to work with individuals who are interested in learning more about the stock market, economics, and the various types of investment options.

Todd’s initial pursuit of the investment industry was born from his interest in the stock market, but later in life that became second to his interest in seeing others not make financial mistakes. His passion now in working with individuals is first educating them and second seeing them eventually become as interested as he is in pursuing their financial goals. Todd pursued the arduous effort of obtaining the CFP® designation in the fall of 2015 and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ® in July 2016.

Todd’s personal goals are to raise a family in Gainesville, GA and become actively involved in the community. He loves the Appalachian Mountains where you can find him out hiking and camping on the Appalachian Trial, fly fishing on the Chattahoochee River, and boating around Lake Lanier.

Gainesville, GA is perfectly situated between them, and is where he now calls home.
